maybe

shirt-thrifted; shorts-Suzy Shier; belt-vintage; purse-vintage; flats-Joe Fresh; bracelets-gifted & vintage

On my last trip to the thrift store I walked out with 4 silk garments, each in a bright, bold color. I didn't plan it, but that's all that stood out to me that day, and when I got to the checkout, the sales lady said "oh, I see you're adding some color to your wardrobe"... I chuckled and said "umm, yeah" realizing that she probably isn't familiar with my closet (unless she stops by here, lol) and it's bountiful color selection. I suppose next time I'll go in wearing my red pants, cobalt blue top and purple flats ;)

p.s.- perhaps I should've ironed this shirt... but it's been super-duper hot and I didn't feel like it was worth it, so I tucked it in, and pretended that's how it's supposed to be :)

easy-peasy

The awesome/funny/sometimes surreal thing about my family and the way we moved to Canada is that we really never cut any ties with our 'motherland' so I always feel as though I have at least 2 homes; an ocean apart. Now that I'm back from my trip to Holland and Bulgaria I'm happy to be home in Canada; just as I felt at home back in Bulgaria. I'm so very grateful for all the chances I get to travel, even though it definitely took a toll on this little blog of mine. I want to thank everyone who's been stopping by and leaving awesome comments that make my day! You guys rock, and now that I'm back to having regular internet access I'm so excited to be checking out all of your lovely blogs and commenting just as I used to!

I also plan a few new things to the blog; as well as to finally add new items to my Etsy shop; so, feel free to stick around :)

awkwardness

Not really sure why I look so awkward in all of these :( I'm definitely not the most photogenic person to begin with, but when I loaded these pictures for the post 'awkward' was the only thing that came to mind. That, and 'shiny', cuz of my super-duper necklace :) it's one of those pieces I wish I wore more, but it tends to tangle my hair.

Btw, did anyone watch the Royal Wedding? I didn't since waking up at 4 am was just never gonna happen...and then I had other shows to catch up on, so I just browsed the web for some photos of the happy couple (the check out her dress mainly, lol). And of course I stumbled upon the one with the little flower girl frowning and closing her ears==absolutely adorable!!! Check it out (if you haven't already; it's sort of gone viral!)

love it or hate it

I used to be a lot more 'black and white' about...everything really. Things were either right or wrong; fair or unfair; I either loved something or hated it. But now I find myself knees deep in the 'grey area' of early adulthood; realizing that things in life are a lot more complicated (than they should be, at least according to the 12 year old me). Although I don't always like it, the 'grey area' has a few benefits, which frivolous as they may be, help me stay positive. One of them is the fact I've eased my do's and don'ts when it comes to clothing. I figure now is the time to try things; some will work, others I'll have pics of, so my kids can make fun of in years (until it suddenly becomes cool and they'd beg me to borrow them).
Case in point, I used to not be a huge fan of jean shorts and tights...clearly I've converted. Turns out, it's a super comfy combination, and I kind of can't believe I've missed out on it for so long.

to spring

Dear Spring,
I'm officially ready for you. As you can see, I've put out all of my most vibrant hues, in an effort to entice you to show me yours. I've grown pretty tired with the bare trees with no leaves, so please, feel free to make your triumphant return!

Sincerely,
Anjela :)

green with envy

Forgot to post this outfit, from when spring made a grand return...for a week. Good thing I didn't pack away my winter coats, because apparently spring's shady on its commitments in the Great White North (aka Canada). There's one thing I'll never get used to...windchill is the other!

like a lady

This is the result of me being in a Mad Men type of mood: I throw on a high-waisted, pencil skirt and a silk scarf and turn back time- easy peasy!

Style File: Emerald Green

A while ago, as I was browsing through Modcloth (a weekly habit of mine) I came across the gorgeous ankle boots (shown above), and I instantly loved them! The richness of the color and the texture, and of course the pretty bow really caught my attention, and so, as I was searching for inspiration for this week's style file I had to look no further.
Emerald green is definitely one of my favorite colors mainly because it looks great on just about anyone; I mean, it works with pretty much any complexion, hair color, etc. And although it's most often associated with the colder seasons, personally, I see nothing wrong with wearing some deep hues in the summer time as well!
