the re-created outfit & wine as a prop

top-vintage (thrifted); skirt-H&M; sandals-Nine West; necklace-H&M

I wore this pretty much identical outfit (with diff shoes) a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have time to take a picture of it. So, naturally, last Friday night, I decided to re-create the look for a friend's Birthday party; it's quickly become a favorite :) I just love the colors and any excuse to wear that necklace is good enough for me!

anddd, the wine; it wasn't really a prop and we all know that ;) It was delicious and I just didn't wanna put it down!

weakness

top-vintage (thrifted); skirt-H&M; flats-Joe Fresh; purse-ALDO; necklace-XXI

I've finally come to accept and embrace the fact that accessories may just be my biggest weakness. I know, it;s pretty hard to be that perfect, but I try.
Seriously though, this one I simply could not walk away from, I tried, and tried, but it somehow ended up at the cash register with me; that kind of stuff happens to me a lot.

p.s.- this top, vintage cuz of the tag, and thrifted for 5$ (which I realize for some of you Americans is crazy money to spend at a thrift store, but once again may I remind you that up north we don't get awesome silk tops for much less! We make do with what we've got ;))

for realz

Going thrifting doesn't always end successfully; a well known fact to many, I'm sure! But, sometimes, SOMETIMES, you luck out so awesomely that it makes up for all the times you've browsed and browsed and strikes out completely. These printed Nine West heels were a total score; so much so, that I had to pinch myself to make sure they're really an 8.5!

it's a wrap

I'll save you the tribute to the genius invention, that is the wrap dress, as I'm sure you're all plenty aware of its wonderful qualities. All I'll say is, it's hard to have a bad day in a good wrap dress ;)

one more reason why thrifting is awesome

Before I left for my trip, I took a brief stop at a local thrift store, not even looking for anything in particular. As usual, I gave the racks a quick run through and headed on for the purse rack. There I found this pretty number! It's been very useful as a cross-body and it's neutral color is easy to work with; it's $7 price tag was also a nice touch :)
Just goes to show that when it comes to thrift shopping, you never know what you might find, so you just need to go at it with an open mind (and about $10!)

love it or hate it

I used to be a lot more 'black and white' about...everything really. Things were either right or wrong; fair or unfair; I either loved something or hated it. But now I find myself knees deep in the 'grey area' of early adulthood; realizing that things in life are a lot more complicated (than they should be, at least according to the 12 year old me). Although I don't always like it, the 'grey area' has a few benefits, which frivolous as they may be, help me stay positive. One of them is the fact I've eased my do's and don'ts when it comes to clothing. I figure now is the time to try things; some will work, others I'll have pics of, so my kids can make fun of in years (until it suddenly becomes cool and they'd beg me to borrow them).
Case in point, I used to not be a huge fan of jean shorts and tights...clearly I've converted. Turns out, it's a super comfy combination, and I kind of can't believe I've missed out on it for so long.

to spring

Dear Spring,
I'm officially ready for you. As you can see, I've put out all of my most vibrant hues, in an effort to entice you to show me yours. I've grown pretty tired with the bare trees with no leaves, so please, feel free to make your triumphant return!

Sincerely,
Anjela :)

purple rain

It's pretty strange to me that I've had both the purple skirt and purple striped shirt in my closet for a while and yet this is the first time I thought of matching them up; seems so obvious!
Also, for no reasons except that I clearly have purple on my brain, I got "Purple Rain" stuck in my head (hence the title of this post), and what sucks is I don't even know the full lyrics of the song so I just keep humming it! I can't tell if it's starting to irritate my bf, or if he's tuned me out completely...
