best 5 dollar purchase

dress-H&M; cardigan-H&M; flats-g21; purse-vintage; necklace-H&M

In case you were wondering what I've been living in since the last outfit post, here it is. This dress cost 5 bucks, and is simply the comfiest thing you could imagine! I'm sure you've crossed paths with it at your local H&M, and you probably glanced at it and walked away (like I did back when it was regular price) but come on, 5 bucks for a brand new dress?! who can pass that up...?!

Here's just 5 reasons why I love this dress so much (5 reasons, one for each dollar it cost me; clever, I know!):
1. it's pretty! (if I do say so myself)
2. the tiny floral print is super easy to work with and the remixing possibilities are nearly endless!
3. it's light as air! yet the length means I don't have to worry about my undies being exposed every time a whiff of air passed by
4. it's great for running errands in, (and especially great when you've skipped on shaving your legs...)
5. it's an awesome transition piece! I can layer it, I can wear it with boots, I can add a scarf,... seriously; best 5 bucks I've spent this summer!;)

Any awesome purchases you're proud of? Feel free to brag about them in the comments!:)

enough

There's things I think I can't ever have enough of; summer, milk chocolate, and blazers are all currently on that list. To be completely honest, I probably wouldn't have bought this blazer if it didn't have the super awesome lining which you can see on the rolled up sleeves. Some would argue if that is a good enough reason for a purchase; but I've got no doubts.

for realz

Going thrifting doesn't always end successfully; a well known fact to many, I'm sure! But, sometimes, SOMETIMES, you luck out so awesomely that it makes up for all the times you've browsed and browsed and strikes out completely. These printed Nine West heels were a total score; so much so, that I had to pinch myself to make sure they're really an 8.5!

basics

A navy, V-neck, jersey dress may not be considered a wardrobe basic by all, but I for one think that should change! It's one of the easiest garments to dress up or down, and a good jersey can be a girl's best friend (let me emphasize on "GOOD"- because I'm sure we all know how clingy certain jersey fabrics can be!)

summer go-to dress

This dress was definitely a good purchase. I've made my fair share of bad ones, no mistake there; but this little number is a keeper! It's super light, and extremely easy to wear; just throw on a pair of heels and a statement necklace or cuff, and it's dressied-up! Easy as pie :) Perfect for the summer heat ahead!

hat day

I know this will sound ridiculously obvious to some, but I only recently realizes that hats are sort of an awesome way to cover up a bad/unwashed hair (day). That being said, don't go assuming that I haven't washed my hair every time you see me wearing this hat (that really wouldn't be a too far fetched guess, but still).

In other news, my legs are insanely pale...and the way the weather's been looking lately, it doesn't seem they'll be changing anytime soon, so you might as well get used to the whiteness. Also, I'm kind of on a sun-screen-all-the-time frenzy, so chances are this is just how my skin's gonna look from now on. Recently found out that for an adult, having had only 2 sunburns makes you conducive to developing skin cancer; a fact that clearly shook me to my very core! (only 2 sunburns?!?! i think i've probably had a dozen...)

sparkles & lace

Could you tell how much I love tights? I was one happy camper when leggings made a return, as I fondly remember wearing them as a kid and feeling so, so comfy! They're also perfect for indecisive weather, such as what we've been having lately, since they're usually lighter than jeans, but still likely to keep you cozy (if it suddenly decides to be 4 degrees out...)

The dress/tunic I got at a sample sale and it makes me feel kinda romantic (puffy sleeves, silky fabric, lace...that would do it). I would have substituted the flats for my sparkly ones, but thought that might be overkill; you be the judge!
