You might get tired of seeing this romper sometime soon...this is what happens when I like something (be it, a song, an artist, a type of cereal, or in like in this case-a garment), I become kind of inseparable from it. Also, this week's been pretty hot and this little number is just perfect for that :)

This necklace's quickly becoming a personal favorite too. I bought it on 50% off, which was awesome, considering I probably would've paid full price for it, if I had to. It's also a testament to the fact you never know where you'll find some little gem to take home with you (it's from Sears...where I probably quickly walk through about twice a year)

p.s.- don't mind my lopsided bun... i'll try better next time :) Might even do something new and exciting with my hair! ...just don't get your hopes up

trip + puppy love

Recently, my bf and devoted photographer, and I took a trip to our Canadian hometown (I indicate Canadian, because we were both originally from different hometowns in different countries, but this is the little town where we met and it still feels like home). We used to take long walks on the beach (online dating profiles have ruined that activity, haven't they?!), and just hang out by the lake whenever we could. Naturally, we went there again, and this time took some outfit pictures; times have changed a little.

One of the highlight of our walk was seeing the super adorable, cutest, most bear-like puppy ever! It might sounds a bit strange, but when I was a kid I used to really want a pet bear, but I thought living in an apartment wouldn't suffice (like that would be the only problem with the scenario). When I first saw a Chao Chao, I thought it was just the cutest thing alive, since it's a dog but really resembles a fluffy bear=perfect combination!
Anyways, we took some pics of the puppy before it lost interest in us and trotted away; and the last photo is of me mimicking how I would hold it if it was mine.

I've wanted a cape for a while now, and had nearly settled on just making one myself, but due to lack of time I had to postpone that. Little did I suspect, someone else had the same idea and made this pretty number, which I graciously snatched at a local thrift store for a whooping $4.99! When I brought it my dad's place, he looked at me and said 'oh, you've got a poncho, cool' or course I corrected him; it's not a poncho if it has an opening (common knowledge-stuff about clothing escapes my otherwise brilliant father).

I was kind of tempted to go out write my exam in my yoga pants (probably the sport-iest thing in my closet) and rain boots, but then I opted out because I've been living in my pj's and yoga pants for the past 3 days anyways, so I needed to actually put together an outfit! Still wanting to be comfortable (I was going to write a 3 hour exam after all) I threw on this light-weight jersey top which I've quickly fallen in love with (it's soooo soft!)

In other news, one exam's OVER...now on to the rest. But since I feel like celebrating this little accomplishment, I went thrifting with a friend and got some pretty sweet things (which I'm sure you'll soon get a chance to see :)

comfort is key

Everyone has a couple of comfy, simple garments that sometimes get neglected, but are always loved. For me, this top is in this category; it's super-duper comfortable and simple so I can wear it with pretty much anything (pretty much) depending on how I feel like accessorizing it.
Today felt like a 'bib-necklace and polka dot tights' type of day, so I went with it.

hand-me-down

I love hand-me-downs; mainly because I only ever got super well-preserved stuff from my mom or my grandmothers, and it's nice to wear something they once loved!
The case with this sweater is a little different...it's actually my bf's. He didn't want it because of some silly reason...something to do with the neckline/tightness; so I took it off his hands. That's just how nice I am. He's a lucky guy,right?!

StyleTranslation: Mellow Grayscale

As mentioned before, I love gray; it's probably my favorite go-to neutral when it comes to clothing. Interior-wise however, I think gray is a tricky color to balance out. You don't want the place to look drab, dull, or depressingly dark. Using a variety of shades is one way to create greater visual interest, and when combined with a range of textures and accent pieces, you've got yourself a beautifully inviting room!

I love how serene and simple the interior is, and I wanted to 'translate' it into some outfit inspirations! The items featured stay true to the theme of the room, in color and style: subtly beautiful. Luxirous cashmere, simple cuts, and relaxed fits combined with a touch of glamor brought in by the chunky crystal necklace and bauble cocktail ring, create looks definitely inspired by the mellow gray-scale.
